Job Summary
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Patrols assigned area by vehicle or other means. Responds to emergency situations. Administers emergency medical care. Directs and reroutes traffic around fire or other disruptions. Investigates unusual or suspicious conditions, traffic accidents or complaints. Issues traffic citations.
Writes reports on investigations, offenses, arrests and activities. Prepares probable cause affidavits, books and guard prisoners. Questions suspects.
Contacts and assists the public. Transports prisoners. Collects and preserves evidence.
Testifies in court.
Disperses unruly crowds.
Participates in training conferences and programs. Performs surveillance of businesses or citizens. Meets with informants. Works undercover.
Trains cadets in the use and care of firearms.
Conducts On-the-Job-Training for cadets and new officers.
Sets up tactical positions and emergency response for special missions.
Operates data terminal. Communicates by radio and monitor transmissions. Effects arrests.
Reports problem areas and facilitate solutions.
Enforces federal, state and local laws.
