Come join fellow star gazers for a unique view of the Lago Vista Skies. Saturn's rings should be on edge and thus barely visible on this unique event. If you have a telescope, come on out about 7:30 to set up. If you don't know how to use it, come on out at 7 and we will help you (PM us before hand, please). Astronomers should be there until at least 9 or later if interested parties are still around.
The high school has agreed to turn off their lights for us as the week of spring break comes to a close. Thank you Lago Vista High School! This is a great way to share our unique position in Texas with family & friends.
We should be on the far side of the school in the SE corner of the football field parking lot. As you come in, please TURN OFF YOUR HEADLIGHTS when you pass the first set of red lights and just use parking lots to park and PLEASE DRIVE SLOW, then follow the red lights (which are star gazing friendly) to where the telescopes are. We want everyone to have a safe and wonderful night.
Bring some drinks and snacks for the kids or some chairs if you like. There should be one really huge, one extra big and several normal sized telescopes at this event to view both the planets nearby as well as some deep sky objects including galaxies and nebula.
